Friday Surprise

Back in the late 30's during the Great Depression, we were just as poor as everybody else.  But fortunately, my Dad had a job as a welder.  Friday was payday and on his way home he would buy the week's groceries.  Mom couldn't because we only had the one car.  The best part of the whole deal was Dad coming home with what he called, "Friday Surprise."  There was always something special in that grocery bag for my sister and me.
